Ski metric explainer

Edge Match in skiing

Edge Match compares how closely the inside and outside skis build edge together through a turn.

What it means

Edge Match is Poser's first technique metric. It compares the timing and shape of inside-ski and outside-ski edging during each detected turn, then summarizes the best six-turn window for the run.

Why it matters

When both skis build edge together, the skier often has a cleaner platform and a more organized turn. When the inside ski is late, flat, or disconnected, the outside ski may do most of the work and the turn can become less stable.

Good vs problematic movement

A stronger Edge Match pattern usually shows the skis tipping into the turn with related timing. A weaker pattern may show the inside ski lagging behind, flattening out, or drifting while the outside ski builds edge alone.

How Poser can visualize it

Poser estimates edge-building patterns from the analyzed movement signal and displays a per-turn score. The green six-turn window highlights the strongest continuous section of the run.

What to look for

Use the score as a cue, then check the replay. Compare green turns against lower-scored turns and watch whether the inside leg supports the turn or simply follows after the outside ski has already shaped it.
